This QQI Level 5 programme was designed to give the learners the foundation skills to excel in a college course of their choice. This course could be appealing to those who are unsure of what they wish to study in college or those who wish to gain extra skills, including research skills and word processing, before they start their college course. This would also be a good course for mature students returning to education.

Graduates who achieve the required standard may progress to further studies in IoT’s/Universities through the Higher Education Links Scheme. A limited number of places are reserved on a competitive basis on Ordinary Degree (Level 7) and Honours Degree (Level 8) programmes in third level colleges for students who successfully complete a QQI (Fetac) Level 5 Course.
